Petrol?

Diesel?

LPG?

Electric?

It could be a number of things. Need more symptoms.

Smell of fuel? Color of exhaust? rough idle? loss of power?

Possibilities;

- Dirty Air filter (replace)

- Fuel filter clogged (replace)

- Spark plugs fouled or need to be replaced (replace and gap)

- Spark plug wires defective (replace)

- general build up of sludge etc in motor (engine flush)

- Injectors fouled or carburetor problems depending on vehicle type (Have them cleaned)

- weak or damaged cell in Battery (replace, Get one with more power. The one that comes with the vehicle is usually the minimum)

- defective starter (replace)

- Defective alternator (replace)

- Vacuum leak (repair)

- Poor compression due to leaky gasket (overhaul)

- Dirty or damaged valve seats (overhaul)

There was also a few vehicles (such as the Plymouth Voyager) that had problems with crud building up on the butterfly valve in the intake manifold. This crud would restrict air flow.

If this is the case, remove the large hose from the air filter, reach in with a rag and cleaning solutions and simply clean both sides of the butterfly valve. This may need to be done every couple of months.

.........so the script goes,

Seagoon: "My husband and I have great pleasure in starting this Goon Show No.161!"

Grams: sound of prolonged churning from lorry engine.

Seagoon: <clears throat> "My husband and I have great pleasure in starting this Goon Show No.161!"

Grams: sound of prolonged churning from lorry engine.

Seagoon: <clears throat> "My husband and I are having great difficulty in starting this Goon Show No.161!"

Grams: sound of prolonged churning from lorry engine.

(with apologies to the late Spike Milligna, the well-known typing error)

Would you like a gorilla to go with that?
