PDA for Bored Piles > 1.5 Meter Diameter

07/28/2014 3:39 AM

Been at the web for more than a week now researching for methodology and specifications/procedures in conducting Pile Dynamic Analysis / Test for Bored Piles larger than 1.5 meters or specifically 2.5 meters to 2.8 meters.

Hope somebody would be able to guide me to the site, manual or any reference.. thank you for any assistance.

What did these guys say: http://www.dynamicpiletesting.com/

?

Its not that you want to invent this yourself or is it?

Did you see this one: www.fhwa.dot.gov/publications/research/infrastructure/geotechnical/05159/05159.pdf

?

Why do you think the methodolgy for testing will be different for larger diameter?

Hi,

Thank you for the advise really, yea its NOT that I want to invent the process but those manuals provide reference for cast in place and smaller piles and not bored piles of large diameters where the level of energy to activate the pile would be high, this level would be dependent on the capacity of the large piles, which I am searching right now...

Really.. thank you..

Smithy gets a GA from me.

If you're so inclined, visit the U.S, army Corps of Engineers website and look for the specifications for piles in their publication section. There are several specs, and they're "Performance-based" specifications. Part 3 includes testing parameters of piles. All are free for downloading.

In regard to "Pile Dynamic Analysis", are you asking how the analysis is performed?

You DO know how design, analyze, and test bored piles, don't you? Something tells me that you're a Junior Engineer who has been tossed a "cookie' and ask to perform a certain task where you had no prior experience undertaking. Correct?

Also, get a copy of Joesph Bowle's legendary foundation textbook, as well a learn about Myerhoff amongst others.
