A substation has so many components like incoming 33 kv panel comprising of cable termination , Circuit breaker, CTs , PTs , Protective relays , Meters and other Electrical control systems. Transformers Dry type or Oil Immersed, and LT panel comprising of all switching controls and protective systems . Each and every item has to be tested as per schedule before commissioning. So it is mandatory for the Commissioning engineer to carry out all the tests necessary for each and every item as per standard testing procedure of the Electricity Supply authority of the country you install the substation . There are specified standards and regulations to be followed. So learn it throughly before taking up the job.
