Ignorant security guard.

I was helping my kid study their periodic table just last night, and was handed a full color nice looking plastic binder page/study sheet from her teacher.

It had US Army ads on the front and back. Free advertising by the school in exchange for free educational materials. At first I was like, what??? Then I was like...this is a nice educational tool...and, whatever.

Going back five generations (at least) has seen a service member in my family (including both my wife and me), so one might understand my perspective.

I would be at the school the next day to discuss policy with district representatives. The next school board meeting would be very, very enlightening for those present.

If I didn't, my wife would...and nobody needs to see that shitstorm!

Security Guard was probably dishonorably discharged and wanted to humiliate the officer as revenge. A military uniform is certainly better looking than some of the crap that younger people are allowed to wear to schools.

Or perhaps he was one of those who went to Canada to escape the draft during the Nam war conflict.

Having not been able to join the ranks of the military (medical), I go out of my way to thank military personnel, I have purchased a number of meals for members of the military but the most memorable was once at a sandwich shop that I picked up the tab for a GI [sic] and his wife and she said I am not in the military so I don't deserve this, to which I responded that if you're married to someone in the military then you deserve it even more because you have to suport your GI while they are deployed plus the worry of whether they are coming home safe and not to mention that the homefront is forgotten about a lot more than you would think so enjoy your meal with my thanks.

I enjoy the freedoms that I have left that were fought for by the many who have served in the military so give 'em a break people.
