AWS D1.1 Prequalified WPS

I want to fabricate some structural steel work for a client. Neither cyclic loading nor sudden loading is applicable for this structure. I proposed prequalified WPS based on AWS D1.1 Clause-3 to weld the job. Unfortunately, client want to qualify the WPS based on AWS D1.1 clause-4. How can I convince the client to accept my proposal?

Pre qualified procedures in the AWS D1.1 code will not be acceptable for many clients, because it was not qualified, which could cause distrust between the parties, and if your client do not have qualified welding procedures , they stand the risk if failures would occur, it could up in legal battles, which i am certain it will effect your career. Actual procedure qualifications from accredited test institutions are really not that expensive. You just have to assure the welder doing the actual welding is the best, otherwise it become real expensive. To conclude, if i had been your client, i would not accept any pre qualified procedures.

Just now, I received mail from my client regarding this issue.He might have seen our discussion in CR4!. It was just a mis understanding of client. My client has accepted to use prequalified WPS to fabricate the ladder to install in their degassing unit.
