Latest DCS SUPCON WebField ECS-100 or XINHUA TiSNet-XDC800B

09/21/2014 6:41 AM

The above mentioned DCS sytems were shortlisted for our 600MW Thermal Power Plant & eventually SUPCON won because of its low price. Xinhua Control has now charged its rival stating that the sytem is way older than XDC800B & that tender clearly states that latest is to be given preference.

I have Googled but most of the research articles are in Chinese & I cannot comprehend them. I so far am unable to pinpoint exact timeline for the two systems. Anyone please help.

states system is launch in 2012

Cannot get any clue upon Webfield ECS-100 from SUPCON

states that SUPCON is the major player in Chinese market. Research paper is of year 2008

Yes. Buy from a reputable American vendor.

It will only bring you grief if you buy the cheapest equipment,"Made in China" you will regret it.

You will have junk to work with and no recourse if it FAILS.

"Made in China" may not always be a sign of "JUNK" but buyers of many companies have discovered that some Chinese items that are specified as "metal" often are "POT METAL" -- a melting-pot combination of many metals whose origins may be recycled trash metals. Those unfamiliar with "Pot Metal" need to get knowledgeable: it usually is a low-melt combination that is easily pour-molded, inherently weak in strength, very soluble in even slightly corrosive water (Example: easily disintegrates in slightly chlorinated water!), can be plated and made to APPEAR to be brass or copper. What is the source of this junk? Much comes from the USA, junked computers and components, autos, boilers, whatever. If the surface of your item is easily scratched, be very cautious! Standards, QA and QC may not be really an established part of the Chinese industrial (and sales) system. The above has broader inferences than just the DCS SUPCON mentioned.

And, posts from those who wish to hide behind the title of "Anonymous Poster" are equivalent to the cheapest equipment, "Made in China".

Not worth very much, in my book, like "pot metal".
