What Was I solving For?

09/26/2014 2:10 PM

Does anyone know what I was solving for in this formula? It's been years since I did it. Just wondering now.

You were supposed to destroy that document!

Now I have to change all of the security protocols.

Now that I've had my fun.

This looks like part of a simple DC network mesh analysis. Possibly a feed back network.

Looks like loop equations for resistor network. Assign a current for each loop in network (I1, I2, I3, etc). Sum of voltage drops around loop (I x R) plus any voltage sources equal to zero.

If you don't know the question, why worry about the answer?

Yet another waste of cyber space.

What were you solving for?

There are a number of possibilities:

You may have been solving as a route to attaining proficiency working with similar problems;

You may have been solving to complete a task assigned as part of a class, i.e. homework;

You may have been solving because someone you found attractive asked you to complete some task they were assigned in one of their classes;

You may have been solving to provide a mystery for yourself later in life in hopes of staving off what you envisioned as impending boredom;

Or perhaps you just want to demonstrate that it is sometimes acceptable to end a sentence in a preposition.

I'd like to thank the people that gave me legitimate answers. To the trolls that replied: I'm sorry my silly question offended you. I was just going through a box of things from when I was serving in the military, and was sent to aviation electronics school. It was at the start of the gulf war, so I'll admit it's been a while since I've worked in that field. After my honorable discharge, I went on to do other things so I'm a little rusty on all of this. Chalk it up to nostalgia for wondering I suppose. Hope you're patting yourself on the back for those clever stabs.

It is not your fault. We all ride the same horse.

I can't find anything in the comments severe enough to be called a 'stab', and certainly nothing worthy of being awarded 'clever stab'.

.

Stick around, eventually you will stumble upon some genuine vitriol more deserving of a term like 'stab'. Overall, the strengths of this site easily out weigh the occasional acrimony.

.

Welcome.

I don't see a formula, just a huge (-) sign in the middle of the screen. I did the reset, but still no formula. What is the secret?

Actually this was a proof of the possibility of an over unity machine. The "BIG Energy" companies and their puppets in Washington had it deleted

Sorry about that. I moved the picture on my google+ account so it screwed up the link. Here is my "waste of cyberspace" problem:

A few years ago when my mother-in-law died, my wife was going through her things. She found her own 7th grade math homework. I think you should file your paper where it went.

It seems like the 'waste of cyberspace' comment was the one to which you took offense.

.

The comment doesn't make enough sense to warrant feeling slighted over. 'Waste' used that way should mean something close to 'an instance of expending something unwisely'.

.

Nothing was expended. It makes about as much sense as someone saying a chalkboard was wasted because they didn't appreciate what was written on it. If the comment doesn't make sense, neither does allowing yourself to feel slighted over it.

Now that I can see what was being talked about I can offer the same as a few others. First however to all those who find it odd that some one could be interested in their past work. I have much of my school work from having returned to school in my 40s. I pull it out occasionally and try to resolve some of the problems. I am keeping them for nostalgia. I am leaving them for my kids to fight over when I go. Page 3 of the will reads Solve these problems. The first with the right answer with out outside help gets the house etc. Too bad I wont be there to see the looks on their faces. This looks very much like you were solving for the currents and/or voltage drops around a resistive or possibly an impedance circuit with one or more voltage sources. I devised a short program to do impedance circuits for me.
