G'DAY STAND

10/01/2014 7:20 PM

Hi fellow CR4rers.

I haven't been active in CR4 for a while for many reasons. As many will know I spend a lot of time inventing things and have come up with this: I have designed something that could be of interest to some of the musicians around here and I believe there are a few.

I would appreciate any comments and hope this is not interpreted as spam. For the ones which don't want to open the link here are some photos of what this is about. It is a flat pack guitar stand which can be used as a sheet music stand at the same time.

Thanks in advance for your comments. Please click the link for details.

Thanks, Ky.

I invested in Kick Starter's LE RÊVE BLEU, the Bugatti airplane being built to fly one day. The Bugatti 100p Project - An ambitious project created to ...

I have invested in this invention also. As an inventor myself, I appreciate the elegant simplicity of the design. The light weight and ease of storage, inside the case, make this a natural for traveling musicians.

I'll give the stand to my son, who is a musician, and keep the T-shirt for myself.

Good luck, Ky!

Hmm! Nice product. Not really a musician myself, I played the violin and was first chair, but since there was only 1 other violin player, that just meant that I didn't "suck" at it - quite as bad!

But I do have a friend who plays the guitar (from Fort Wayne), and he would appreciate it. Me, I appreciate the simple, effective design (Love the KISS principle).

Hope you are sucessful in your venture.

Could there maybe some day in the future when you could build these for other instruments?

I have three classical cellists in my immediate family, all adults, and each and every one of them bemoans the headache of dealing with a cumbersome music stand.

Also at symphony concerts you can see when the musicians, especially with stringed instruments, show up and decide to do a little brushing up before the concert the mad rush of finding a place to "set up" just to practice.

I can see that the simplicity and size could fit into this niche quite nicely as some instruments get rather large.

Helluva good thing you're doing helluva good thing!

I can probably even come up with a venue in the south eastern U.S. market.

Hi Wt

We have plans in place to cater for the different guitar sizes including electric guitars and bases. For now, just to get a feel of how this stand is received, we have to stick to what we can manufacture and deliver on short notice.

Cello and other large classical string instruments would have to be specially designed but everything is possible. I can just imagine what a struggle it must be for the owners of a cello to put it away , even for a short while. My grandson is learning to play the cello and I'll see how he gets away with storing it during breaks next time we visit him up north.

Thanks for your reply, Ky.

Nice work. Yes I'm a muso. Synth Player in fact.

Just a small tip/suggestion, I'd make it hold a Tablet (iPad or similar). If it can, then use a picture of it too. Most new musos now only use tablets for reading music (See OnSONG app)

Thanks daffy

Excellent suggestion. I have not thought of this, maybe it's because of my age and my disconnect with what is going on in the 'modern' music scene.

The sheet music attachment will hold a kindle or even a real book, weight wise, so I see no problem with people using the OnSONG app using an Ipad or similar device. The only thing is they need good eyesight if they are not sitting down during a concert.

Again, thanks for your input, Ky.
