The hawk tells technology to get off of my cloud.

That hawk could have been injured by those spinning blades. It actually sounds like it was hit by at least one of the blades and that killed the lift on the drone.

The outcome could have been totally the other way. And it's not known if the hawk was injured. News program this morning indicated the drone was damaged on impact, but different program indicated no damage.

You can poke someones eye out with one of these. Ya the hawk could do it too.

There was one a few weeks back where a drone got too close to a mountain goat, and the mountain goat took it out. The the owner of the drone went to retrieve his drone, and then the mountain goat continued and proceeded to take out the owner.

Fred,

when are we going to see underwater drones???? I want to swim with the fishes and see what it looks like inside one of my nets . A Go Pro just doesn't give that "fishy" look and it is just stationary.

Find us some video. You are so good at locating the most interesting stuff.

"I want to swim with the fishes"

That's easy, just come over to Chi-CAH-goh and piss off a Mob Boss. He'll take care of yous, all expedicious-like...

Oh wait, you said SWIM, not SLEEP. Do NOT follow the advice I just gave, it would get you killed quite a lot.

There's a moral in here somewhere. A parallel, perhaps, to the one H.G. Wells had in mind in War of the Worlds when the mighty Martian invaders resisted everything Man could throw at them, but were taken down in the end by the humblest of Earth's creatures: bacteria.

Here it's hawks, potentially safeguarding us (however unwittingly) from the prying eyes of our own government's domestic drones. This wasn't a government spy-drone of course, but it could have been.

I find it somehow comforting that even Nature finds their presence distasteful.

Ah! But was it a government hawk?

(I shouldn't say it really, but am I the only one thinking that it's a shame that Ebola hasn't spread to the ISIS fighters)

If it had, we won't hear of it, all news has to go through and approved by ISIS rumor control department first.

Now will Obama see the hawks as terrorists groups and hunt them down? I can see birds of prey becoming highly sought after pets and drone hunting training schools on every street corner. Now how will the FAA deal with that?

not the first time he had groups targeted now is it. Just waiting to see the effort put forth on who or what this is going to be blamed on.

One gets the feeling, that decisions are being made for personal and political reasons, and not for the best interest of the country.

Interesting article on the link posted previously that a lad was prosecuted for flying his quad copter and selling the video to his client. In the same article the FAA wants all remote controlled aircraft banned in the public sector. No more model flying for me it seems.

It is not a law yet in the US, but the FAA wants modellers to follow FAA rules, it seems. Maybe now I need a pilots license to fly an model helicopter or aeroplane.

Also see the small remote controlled 'bugs' they have. Very interesting how they can now spy n you in your own home and bug spray does not kill them off. Ordering in some eagles to train for taking out DHL drones and stealing the packages.

Eagle Skyjacking Inc. 'You drone it, we stone it. You pack it we jack it"

Problem is, there was a time that there wer only a few that had the resources and talent to be able to afford fly these.

Friend of mine who fly huey's in the military, his friend bought a model helicopter, but he didn't buy the recommended training arm with it. It was the best well not the best but the quickest $600.00 he spent..... which was about 5 seconds.

Now, its at the mass main stream consumers reach, and you can't fix stupid.

It's just like flying, now you have people flying like this idiot. And he doesn't understand what all the commotion is about.
