Metamaterials

Apparently metamaterials are extremely strong able to withstand 160,000 times their own weight. They are to be tested on aeroplanes and cars. My question is how far are we away from using metamai in construction. Or is this impossible?

I think you are confusing carbon fiber with metamaterials.....
