Manufacturing company is looking for a Head of Structural Engineering & Design in Northamptonshire, UK
Reporting into the Group Managing Director, the Head of
Structural Engineering & Design will be responsible for the
company's Technical department which includes structural and design
engineers and technicians. You will be a natural leader who has the
ability to mentor and develop this team as well as having the
commerciality to deal with customers, suppliers and promote the
organisation technically. As part of the organisations senior management
team you will take a lead role in product development and research
projects both internally and with external partners.
Who we're looking for
To be considered for the role Head of Structural Engineering & Design you will be experienced with the following points.
• Is a Chartered Engineer qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil maybe considered.
•
Experienced in the design and development of steel products used in
construction industry is beneficial, design with other construction
materials & products will be given due consideration.
• Have the required Engineering gravitas to lead a highly skilled Engineering department.
•
Will be well versed in the required Design Codes for UK and European
markets, specifically relating to wind, loads, and snow as well as
pressure, corrosion, impact, thermal and flooding.
• Be able to give
strong examples of where they have challenged the status quo and
challenge methodology to encourage new ideas.
• A key part of this role will involve product development so a track record in this area is required.
