PCB Production - Online Manufacturers

11/10/2014 4:17 AM

Hello,

I designed an electronic circuit board, and i want to ask if someone dealt with any online manufacturer who can develop the PCB and ship it internationally.

Please provide your suggestions.

Thanks,

Hisham

Your local Yellow Pages should be your first stop, Mildred.

Yes. Someone has. Google and Bing are their names.

Most of people in this forum they just throwing a sentence!

I know that google has a lot of answers and ofcourse better than your answer, but the question is relevant to experience of other users here in this forum, and from there experience and there point of view if they recommend some websites!!

If you don't have answer don't just post useless comments!

The original post requests suggestions, and is in itself little more than one sentence. Some good ones have been listed already. To decry them is nonsense. It's almost as if you want others to guess what the best suggestions already in your mind might be so that you can chide them when they get it wrong. In which case, why did you bother to post?

Am I to guess how big they are and how many you want, too? What happens when I get that wrong, then?

You really need to return only after you have defined the problem more concisely. Some countries may have export restrictions to where these boards are needed, for instance.

Some questions for you to consider (and others that will come up as you get answers to these) are:

1) Is the design mature enough that it is a simple build as design and ship?

2) Will it likely require some developmental work that necessitates a back and forth effort in producing early boards?

3) How will you handle warranty, maintenance and upgrade issues associated with the boards?

4) Will these boards be stand-alone, or will they be incorporated into a higher up assembly?

You answers to these will help to drive your decision in where to produce the boards.

And while we're at it,

One or two sided?

Or multilayer?

Through-hole, or surface mount, or both?

Five or five hundred, again. In other words, prototype, or proven design?

It's been 20 years since I dealt with both prototype shops and productions houses. We had a contract house, with chip shooters do our assembly for us.

So, I'll offer no more advice, since you only want answers from those who have recently ordered boards with no engineering or design parameters included.

An internet search produced a few results, do you want us to do the search for you or would you just like us to offer our suggestions on PCB manufacturers we have used?

Try this

http://www.globalspec.com/productfinder/electrical_electronic_manufacturing_services

Or Try this (not an endorsement just the first one of 600k that came up in a search).

I use local manufacturers that don't export. Why don't you just try a local manufacturer yourself, its only 3 boards.

If You already had properly done the design and only interested for a limited quantity of 3 single layer PC Boards, it will be costly for you to have it completed!

It will be faster, cheaper, economical and without any problem to just do it yourself..

Seems you are very competent so just get some paint, Pentel pens or markers or whatever to draw /transfer your already designed circuit onto 3 pcs. of copper clad boards. Once finished soak them into an etching solution or acid like ferric chloride to complete your PCB!

This may have been true in the past, but as I mentioned, since the "Maker" trend has gained momentum, there are quite a few PCB manufacturers that cater to hobbyist designers. I know for certain that a few small boards can be manufactured for as little as $10 each, perhaps even less. The problem with doing your own boards is how to dispose of the caustic chemicals needed to etch the bare board. It's not good to just wash this down the drain, and could end up costing much more in fines, if the municipal authorities find out.

Tom D. -

I 100% concur with everything you stated...

I suggested that approach based on the OP's limited info. Thinking the lack of information also reflects the $$ part of it? Typically it will cost more to order a very limited quantity even from a 3rd world country provider..

Have a look at this article. I think most if not all of PCB houses they talk about are in the USA, but I would imagine most will ship internationally, and for small quantities, shipping shouldn't be too bad:

LINK

There are some other links included in the article that will be helpful. With the current "Maker" trend of people designing unique electronic devices around very flexible micro-controllers, there are more and more PCB houses that cater to hobbyists. You shouldn't have much trouble finding a place to make you three boards for a very reasonable price.

I get 10 boards done every week for $25.00 posted. Double sided, PTH screen printed both sides, solder-mask, HASL, green.
I make all my boards 10cm x 10cm or less to get this very low price.
