Transmission Temperature Sensor

11/13/2014 12:57 PM

I am looking for transmission temperature sensors that can be used on a farm equipment to monitor the temperature of a gearbox. The input voltage of these sensors is a 24 VDC power supply. I heard the length of some of these sensors are adjustable just by spinning it. I would like to know where I can get these type of sensors, and the price range of them. Much appreciated!

ps. I looked up on the Canadian Tire website, but they did not provide me any useful information regarding the transmission temperature sensors.

Not really. The ones that look like plugs and are placed on the bottom in order to touch the fluid.

What type of tractor...? Is this an add on?, or replacement? If this is an add-on, is there a threaded, plugged hole? If so what is the thread size and type?

Bill,

I will not speak for the forum, only myself.

I love a challenge. I like to help other engineers and just plains Joe-six-pack kinds of guys solve their technical problems.

Finding off the shelf transmission temp sensors is not a technical problem.

It's a simple web search.

You are obviously a new engineer. Part of your job is to find answers to simple procurement exercises by using a search engine.

Some years ago I visited the John Deere test farn here in the Mesa AZ area.

The equipment was sophisticated even 20 years ago, but it wasn't rocket science.

Approach these searches as if they are a project. Define the requirements. Search the right places. Pick some candidates and look over the specs.

Then get some samples.

Much appreciated.

I recently needed a speedometer sensor for my Harley, and found no useful information on the Canadian Tire website. Odd.
