Neutral Grounding: Which Transformer is Best?

Either system will work, I would prefer the Zig Zag connection, but it may be more difficult to find a transformer that can be configured in the zig zag connection. Both systems have been used for many years. I have forgotten the calculations for the current limiting resistors but your numbers look reasonable. I think that both configurations require the windings to be on one core. The WYE/open Delta may require adding a bushing for the open delta winding connection. Perhaps the cost and availability will become your deciding criteria.
