We have commission new VFD in our plant, during the start up of the plant we had run the VFD to 50% in DCS then increase to 100% full run, however when the reduce the speed to 0% all of a sudden the VFD trip. any advise please.
The Force is not strong with me today, so I cannot read your mind to see what the trip display on the VFD said. Please use your fingers to transmit additional data by typing it into the keyboard.

Consider this: A VFD produces an output from nearly DC to frequencies much higher than you could possibly ever need.
Your motor is an AC device. As your VFD approaches 5% speed control, the output is effectively DC as far as the motor is concerned.
If you attempt to drive an AC motor with DC, the current will spike. I hope that explains what you need to know. If not, you should not be programming the VFD.
