You should check those links you sent.. It's not even in the UK, or near where my university will be. I checked all those links before you event sent them. I told you, I made my search.

Big mistake! Basically it is your understanding or understanding of what an energy engineering is, is actually the only one that is too narrow, not the field!

All engineering curricula /or apprenticeship program will give you a better understanding of your field of interest.... All deals with the fundamentals, the basics you need and whichever path you take or choose will just be dependent on your academic strength? No matter how good you think you are, the basics is where to start!

You maybe too close to the "frame" that you failed to enjoy /see the whole scenery!

If you do well in school, your school will gladly help you find an internship somewhere. Your impatience makes me wonder if you will do well in school at all. My impression of you right now is that you are not ready to enter any university let alone be employed by any corporation. Then again, at least half of the freshmen entering a university program are not ready. The remedial classes many must take is proof of that.

You're at a scary, wonderful transition point in your life. For many this is the first time in their lives that they get to set their own course to pass or fail. Many who initially fail, learn from the failure something new about themselves that helps them the rest of their lives.

Do your best in whatever you do.

I prefer to make sure this is the right major to enter than be bankrupt,in debt, and dropping of out university.

It does not come all as easy as you think. You have to earn it. What you lack is self confidence and self-reliance.

Sound's like you are a whining loser. Strong people do not submit defeat other than their fault or mistake. The more the difficulty, the more the challenge. The more dopamine for you.

You are still young and better days ahead of you, if you'll find it yourself.

You need to get out, off that comfortable chair and get a job! Accept whatever comes along and see if you can tackle and be a responsible person!

Doing that approach may serve as an eye opener for you and learn something new.. The best thing a person like you can do to start the beginning a productive and fruitful life!

I find it very ironic that we have this thread happening at the same time.

For better or worse, we live in a world ruled by the Protestant work ethic. A work ethic that does not take into account skill level, logistic complications or the myriad of random events that can happen in our lives.

Exactly. You don't start out as a specialist or expert. You need to get a broad background in EE or ME. There should be councilors at whatever engineering college you select that can help steer you toward energy related fields. You will have required courses, but also elective courses where you can concentrate on your interests.
