Paralleling of 66KV Lines

01/07/2015 12:28 PM

Two 66kv lines one comming from 132/66kv substation and other comming from 220/66kv substation both line parallel at one 66kv bus the load on both line after paralleling is more than the actual load it is morethan single line load what is the reason? And which factor affected?

Circulating currents because of badly matched transformers feeding your incoming 66kV lines. Call the utility.

60 is right on. The 220 kv sub is carring the load and part of the load connected to the 132 kv sub. I suspect that you have a back feed, reverse power flow, from 220 kv sub thru the 66 kv system to 132 kv other load.

Assuming for the moment that this is an authorized connection, could you please tell us how you are measuring your load and what those measurements are. I suspect that you are only viewing some of the data that makes for a valid analysis, such as only using Amps and Volts when you actually need the MW, MVAR for each line to make a valid conclusion.

Hi,

Welcome to CR4. Your question is unclear. Are you involved with these power lines? I can only assume that paralleling them will increase the maximum load if done correctly. If not, see Lyn's picture.
