Connection of Armoured Cable

Dear All

Asalam alaikum,

What is the requirement for armoured cable, to the 3 phase electrical equipment with neutral, I have connect the armoured cable at the switch room( switchgear) via cable gland earth tag, is it ok to connect one end only.

If you don't connect the cable at the other end your electrical equipment won't work. I'm not an electrical engineer but what I saw most often with three phase pumps was 3 cores for the three phases, fourth core for earthing and the steel wire armour was for mechanical damage to the cable. Terminating the SWA was always just done at the gland (both ends).

For LV -armor shall be connected to ground for both sides as mandatory

For HV is only one side

For intruments is one side
