Brake Problems Huskvarna 445 Chainsaw

01/17/2015 6:50 PM

Can't get the cover back on. Brake won't fit around the drum. How can I loosen the brake up so I can get the cover back on?

Have you ever done this before?

Have you read the manual?

How To Reset Husqvarna Chain Brake - Handpicked

"From time to time we receive customer inquiries about not being able to put the clutch cover back because they took off the clutch cover while the chain break was still engaged. If you happen to remove the cover without disengaging the chain brake, here is a tip on how to easily reset the chain brake:"

I don't own one. Not much help, sorry.

Try this

and some other threads in this forum. (Just search for "Husqvarna".)

It's been done before.

(By the way, good choice of saw. Mine's now up to chain number 20 and second bar is almost ready for replacement.)

Look at image #91

And page 27.

It may not be much help, also look at Lyn's suggestion. It makes sense that if the brake is still engaged, it will not go back together.

Good luck
