Chinese Highways

01/31/2015 10:28 AM

Just a few highways in China that would be an interesting drive. View all the slides for an awesome show.

I cannot figure out the innovative intersection. It seems that one would have to know what lane to enter the intersection well before the intersection.

I guess if you want to drive in China one should read Hessler's book first. Lots of money spent on infrastructure but little on social structure.

Is the link not working because it does from here?? Crap.

Here is the URL:

I have to say the Mustang would love these wide open spaces with no law on the horizon evident...

I guess once you reach 70s they allow you in. It was sent to me via email but I do see a lock on the URL. But no key. It opens on my end every time without one.

Nice bridge. Traffic's not too bad, either!

Can't view the OPs link without creating a Google account but perhaps it could be this one. Scroll down the page just a little to find the down arrow to the next slide.

Great link, click on points on the map, but it was not the one I sent. I hope all the requests to view/edit have been received. That google request was a new one on me and was not sure what to do. If you get one use the advanced response button. It is quicker. I apologise for any trouble and for sending more than one response. I hope you are now able to view the slides.

Still can't view the links, just get the Google account page but not the same as Solar Eagle posted.

GEE! Sounds like Virginia, where the lanes are designated as turn, or, straight by arrows painted on the road surface - just where action is needed. If you aren't familiar with the area you're screwed!

How do you cope when it snows?

Well, I grew up in NJ, so I learned to drive in snow up to two feet deep, continual traffic would beat it down. (Deeper than that I stayed home.) Here in rural VA they close the schools if there is a reliable report of a dusting of snow. I generally just chuckle and keep going. Truly, the worst snow driving I've encountered is the New York Thruway. They send the salt trucks out and plow and salt til the road is literally polished in ice. I'd drive up to Vt to ski and once I was in VT the roads hadn't been plowed and I had up to a foot of snow for traction. Much better than NY's glazed roads.

You should show them some pictures of snow clearing in Japan.
