Yes, but I would like to use the power to activate another circuit.

I think you are going to need to explain your motivation so we can better advise you. Why do you need (remote?) monitoring of the earthing? How much power do you need? What is being activated? All your goesintas and goesoutas?

I would like to power a low (less that 12) volt lamp, could go to LED to reduce required power.

I smell a lack of knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical safety.

I smell a lack of consideration of the purpose of the earth conductor.

I smell a risk to the promoter of this scheme and those in the vicinity.

Now prove me wrong!

I am trying to trace for an imperfect (intermittent) ground in a system that contains some PVC piping, and therefore is using a ground wire. However, there must be a corroded or loose connection somewhere. Carrying a wireless indicator while I jiggle each junction box seemed the easiest way to locate the problem.

No intention of defeating the purpose of the GFI.

So far, not a single one of your posts bears any resemblance nor is in any way related to any other of your posts.

I suggest that you unsubscribe from this thread and hire an electrician to trace and repair your wiring, before you electrocute yourself.

You know too little about electricity to be trusted even jiggling wires.
