Toyota has announced that it will fix about 160,000 Prius hybrids after finding a software glitch that could cause the cars to stall or shut down. The announcement came after a successful September in which the demand for hybrids spiked in the wake of skyrocketing gas prices. The Prius is the most popular hybrid, accounting for 64 percent of hybrid registrations last year, according to automotive research firm P.L. Polk & Co. Toyota has sold 81,042 Prius cars so far this year, already topping last year's 53,991.
