Forgiato Radurra Glass Wheels - The latest rage

Posted January 30, 2007 5:42 PM

From Newlaunches.com:

Mag wheels, spinners, LED spinners are so 2006 the latest craze is glass wheels. They look amazing on any car and are priced at $5000 per wheel, so it definitely makes sense to put them on a $100,000 car. The only problem I can see with these beauties is cleaning them, obviously they are not made from glass but some toughened plastic. If you are lucky enough to afford one head over to Forgiato. Ho Hum, Saw "glass" wheels on a Pontiac concept car in 1963 at the Pan Pacific Auto show in Los Angeles. It 's funny how the same ideas keep popping up. Not too long ago there was a commercial for a car whose headlights turned with the steering wheel to illuminate a curve in the road. "Revolutionary" they claimed.. Gee, I bet Preston Tucker would agree with that idea too (since he produced cars with that feature in 1947). But back to those "glass" wheels. Brake cooling would seem to be an issue with no vents in those solid discs.

They're not glass, they're lexan. Heat will be a problem if you drive around with them.
