In 1676, Sir Isaac Newton wrote "If I have seen further it is by standing on ye shoulders of Giants." In this blog, we take Newton's words to heart, and recognize the many great engineers and scientists upon whose shoulders we stand.

So who do you think of when you hear "Great Engineer"? Let us know! Submit a few paragraphs about that person and we'll add him or her to the pantheon. Nikola Tesla turns 150

Today marks the 150th birthday of Nikola Tesla. Besides his more well known engineering accomplishments was the purported rumors of a "peace ray", rumors so strong that J. Edger Hover had the FBI seize all his papers and records upon his death.

Nikola Tesla turns 150

I was watching a show on Niagara Falls recently and it was Tesla's AC generation and transmission that allowed Niagara generated electricity to be transmitted as far away as Buffalo. Until then, DC systems had to be contained within single municipalities because of line loss issues.
