Researchers Create First Functional Molecular Transistor

Nearly 62 years after researchers at Bell Labs demonstrated the first functional transistor, scientists say they have made another major breakthrough. Researchers showed the first functional transistor made from a single molecule. The transistor, which has a benzene molecule attached to gold contacts, could behave just like a silicon transistor.

Still have to find a way to switch large power, but with ever smaller devices, such as this, it may be that the caricature of a Chihuahua on Steroids will be a fitting view of the kind of circuits this engenders.

Anyone for a Borg-like implanted targeting and fire control computer for your 120mm Tank Main Gun?

Now where is my Tetsujin Skeleton when I need it?
