Posted February 02, 2007 7:45 AM

From TechEBlog:

Priced at a whopping $2-million, the XSR48 is " capable of speeds in excess of 100 mph with real race boat handling. But style has not been sacrificed for speed. The XSR48 combines the DNA and high performance of a supercar with superyacht styling to create the world's first true superboat."

I don't like the statement "Worlds Fastest Superboat." In the boating world money will buy you whatever you want. In regards to a 48' deep-v luxury vessel breaking 100MPH, that is no big deal with the engines currently available on the market.

Also, in the video they call it the "worlds fastest diesel." That record might hold today but could be wiped out tomorrow. Not to mention, I've worked with many owners that are private with their toys. Only their dealers and mechanic know the truth behind what lurks inside.

BTW: The Gentry Eagle is for sale. Probably cost a bit more then $2mil though.
