2011 Mustang Still a Bargain

Posted January 29, 2010 12:01 AM by CarDomain

The 300-hp V6 2011 Ford Mustang will start just under $23k, including destination charges, and the new 412 hp 5.0 GT will be priced just over the $30k mark, including destination charges. For the full details, check out the PDF at The Mustang Source.

This reminds me of the Mustang conversations I had with the Ford guys at North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). J Mays told me that they have already started preliminary work on the 50th anniversary Mustang for 2014. He said he'd like to see the car shrink down a bit and told me that IRS would be "logical" for the next generation pony car.

Regarding the current generation Mustang, Mays said we can expect more special editions, though he refused to be specific when I asked him about Boss Mustangs, Bullitt Mustangs and the Mach 1.

I dunno guys it seems such a last century car. We are in 2010 now and really should be considering a more responsible choice. btw, I have driven one with a friend, and I am pretty sure that my Volvo is just as fast (if speed is what tickles you). Probably because its a turbo, I would not have chosen that option but it was a demo and they come as they are.

For sure is that quality of this vehicle must be compromised if they go for 23k. When you purchase a vehicle like this you are a thief of your own wallet. Your at the shop 24/7, its a gas guzzler and 7 years max after that its junk. I own a 8 year old Ford and its so rusted I feel ashamed driving it. The Volvo is 8 years and it looks like new including the underside or under-body of the car.

It's such a shame that the gas price is still so low and car like this still make it out of the dealership.

Our kids will have to clean up the mess we make on this world.

You have to take care of the car to prevent rust. My 95 Ford is just starting to rust because I have never had it inside. I wouldn't call this the 6 mpg gas guzzler of the 60's and 70's. For Mustang people we know you don't get it. The others are just not pony cars. Besides if we actually let us drill for oil in our own country there is not a problem. Largest find down south a few months ago. PS I am freezing my butt off where is the global warming?

They should target a Mustang to outclass a Mazdaspeed3 on the street.

From: Tim Hawley Master Mech.

Nice car, very good quality and not so good choice,

I'll stick with my 2003 Cavalier LS Eco-tech 2.2L, 5 Speed Manual, Price $13,K in 2003. It gets 36-38 MPH, pulls my 2,600 LBS boat back and forth to the lake and runs like a scared rabbit. Oh! and its payed for...

At zero down, Have fun making the $500.00 Payments and $45.00 a week gas Bills.

That is $680.00 a month for car payment and fuel cost and car insurance at $230.00 per month is not included.

It must be nice to afford a car that only cost you $910.00 a month to drive for the next 6 years, @ an approx. 6 year cost of 65,500.00 dollars. You could put the money in the bank and in 6 years purchase a small house to live in, or rent it out as an investment. The car will loose its cool in about a year..

Think Smart, check the insurance cost of any car you are thinking to purchase and your monthly ownership costs.

Regards,

Tim
