How about pages on Frank Whittle, inventor of the Jet Engine, and Lord Kings Norton, his Phd supervisor?!
LKN was much more than just FW's tutor. I can vouch for his being a lovely man - I sat next to him at dinner on Cranfield University's 40th anniversary in 1996. I was really meeting history!
Also, when Neil Armstrong was awarded an honorary PhD at Cranfield, that same year, Neil's speech was a homage to the man who had inspired him into aerospace - Lord Kings Norton himself. Neil is another lovely man to meet!
