Vivos Underground Survival Shelter Network

Posted April 16, 2010 11:09 AM

From Gizmag Emerging Technology Magazine:

With the end of the world apparently scheduled for December 31, 2012, there's sure to be a number of opportunistic companies looking to cash in on the upcoming apocalypse. One such company is Vivos, which envisions a network of 20 underground shelters located near major cities across the U.S. with accommodation for up to 4,000 people.

Aside from some unspecified end of the world scenario brought about by the end of the Mayan calendar, the shelters will also be built to survive the stock standard reasons for the apocalypse such as nuclear war and collision with an asteroid.

Ok I read the article. So when the planet undergoes this massive life altering (or ending) event what will Vivos do with all this useless money?

Hey, maybe they started this whole thing just to sell underground condos.

But wait a sec...what happens if I buy a spot in this system (of insanity) and the places never actually get built or the end doesn't come?? Is there a refund? A phone number to call and complain (press one for English)?

This all sounds a tad fishy.

Given the life support of 1 year, I am assuming that they are looking at short-term events (I don't remember the end of the world being classed as a 'temporary inconvenience lasting less than a year'). The money they would get isn't useless at the moment now is it.

But wait a sec...what happens if I buy a spot in this system (of insanity) and the places never actually get built or the end doesn't come?? Is there a refund? A phone number to call and complain (press one for English)?

I am assuming there is an 'act of god' clause in the contract somewhere in which to cover their financial situation (a sort of reverse of the 'act of god' clauses in insurance policies).

If you'd read the contract, if the world isn't destroyed by the morning of Jan 1 2013, they guarantee you double your apocalypse back.
