It will be many years before I go back to Toyota... I got burned on a 1998 Toyota Tacoma in which its frame rotted out and it was only 9 years old. My initial contact with Toyota they told me "Sorry, but your vehicle is not under warranty and there is no known frame problem!" I sold the truck for $300 because I couldnt keep a lawn ornament. 9 months later I get a call from Toyota in which they told me that they want to buy my truck off of me for 1.5x blue book because there was a problem with the frames of multiple years and my truck was included in that batch of mistreated frames that were lacking an anti corrosive coating. I told them I wish I could but I no longer have the vehicle. They said that they couldnt do anything for my loss other than to give me $1500 off of a new Toyota or $750 off of a recertified Toyota and I had 1 year to use it. I asked if it could not have an expiration date and they said sorry it has to have an expiration date. So it expired and I got nothing and took a substantial loss by going with Toyota. I have since bought a Mazda 626 and have had no problems in quality and performance.
