Dog Loves Cat Loves Rat in World-Changing Video

Just below this article I saw this ad...

The dog and cat are tied together, both looked in need of a drink and I could see no evidence that this street begger (well what would you call it?!) had any water or food with him for them.

The article implied he just took his pets for a walk to the barbers, but the video shows he begs on the streets, trading on making his animals perform.

Not impressed

The cat and dog are tied together? I can see a leash, but its not like he tied the cat on the dogs back... neither animal looks like its been poorly cared for. As far as "begging" goes...really? You think he's begging? No. And he's from Telluride, where some of the most kind, down to earth people I've ever known call home.

Yes I think he's begging - how else would you describe sitting on the pavement and holding out a beer stein to collect money?

I didn't say the animals weren't cared for (they are obviously well fed) - just that he didn't have water with him on an obviously hot sunny day. If you watch the video, there are several shots where the animals look overheated. The level of "stranger petting" is excessive.

There is a tether between dog and cat - and if you read the comments on the site where the video is, you'll see I'm not alone in spotting it.

One of the comments is from someone who has seen him in the flesh...I can't verify that poster's comments, but they make worrying reading.

Just because some nice people come from that town doesn't mean that all the people from the town are nice...and I made no comment on the townspeople; I confined my comments to what I saw in the video. Sweeping generalisation are neither useful nor accurate...I have met sober Glaswegians.

Finally, my biggest beef is with the OP text, which implies that the guy is just someone who takes his pets for a walk to the barber's, when clearly he uses the animals to make money. Bad reporting.
