Why Space Isn't Filled with White Holes

Posted August 02, 2010 8:16 AM

From Technology Review RSS Feeds:

Black holes are among the most exotic of astrophysical objects and consequently one of the most deeply studied. White holes, on the other hand, are largely ignored by astrophysicists. So it's time, therefore, to change the balance with some deeper theoretical development of the properties of these objects, says Stephen Hsu at the University of Oregon in Eugene.

Or we could make some jokes regarding the great TV series "Red Dwarf", Season 4, Episode 4 "White Hole".

So whats saying the core of a star is not the point where a white hole is located.

The star itself is just all the initial matter stuff that poured out of the white hole and then collected around it until its external mass pushing in from its own gravity balanced the white holes outward pressure where they then stay in equilibrium until the additional external matter accumulations and changes that stars eventually undergo overpowers the white holes outgoing pressure and it too then collapses from the gravitational forces that built up around it in the form of what we see as a star or sun?

I tend to get to thinking about some heavy stuff when I am cutting or baling hay some days.

I'm pretty sure black holes are simply optical illusions created by swirls in the cosmic vapor.

I get swirls on the surface of my swimming pool at noon in front the the jets that cast images of 'black holes' on the bottom of the pool so if the theory of relativity is correct then the same thing is happening in space.

I never get white holes tho...
