San Francisco shipyard employs novel robot to make cleaning ships quicker, easier and safer for the environment. Ira Maybaum, general manager of BAE Systems San Francisco Ship Repair facility, showing a metal surface that's been stripped of paint and particles by the M-3500 robot from Ecosphere Technologies. The robot removes paint by blasting water at a close range at 42,000 pounds per square inch.
