Five experts, from industry analysts to university professors, predict the top five technology trends for 2007 in this Manufacturing Automation report. Most of the forecasters agree that remote monitoring, predictive diagnostics, and real-time quality control adjustments are the wave of the future. Reconfigurable, and easily configurable, automation systems will be in demand. Look for improvements in the security of wireless communications to assist in realizing these forecasts.

Nothing new here, This trend has been going on for years, with the only recent twist being the use of wireless technology.

Hello All:

I am a mechanical engineer machine design and fabrication experience. I enjoy making automated equipment, but lack skills in the electronics aspect of machine design and computer integration. I am contemplating returning to school to earn a degree in electrical engineering (controls).

I would like to get other's professional opinions about this.

Thanks

Dear Mr.Heath

I was happy to see ur post and know there are others too in the same boat as me but on the opposite deck, I am an Electronic Design Engineer with little or no knowledge of the Mechanical aspects.

Join wits [it is out of fashion to call join hands now :-) ] with me and we can make this world Run Automatically with No Unskilled Labour.

Just to give you an idea what I do, we make High speed Packing and Filling Machines based on Weighing Control.

hoping to see ur reply in the near future
