A Bike With The Luxury Of A Car!

Posted March 12, 2007 5:10 PM

From BornRich:

This unusual motorbike is the updated version of the Swiss-made Ecomobile which packs the thrill of a bike and the luxuries of a car! The fully enclosed motorbike features a sporty, aerodynamic appearance with entry via a gull-wing-door with integrated sunroof, opening to the left. The Monotracer can lean like a bike, when undergoing steep angle turns and it features two-seat capacity with the benefits of a GPS and audio system. The Peraves Monotracer derives its power from a BMW K1200 sourced engine and has a maximum speed of 155 mph.

OK - but the same answer still applies, except in places like Norway and Finland who also use skis.

wait-a-minute wait-a-minute... what happens when I come to a stop sign with this thing...? *looks for the panels for his feet to go through* must be one really great gyroscope on the thing to keep it upright at a stop.

If you study the picture there are side wheels that flip down to support the bike while stopped.

I see the worst of both worlds.

Lacks the open air freedom feeling of a traditional bike.

Lacks the safety of a car.

Other than the ability to go 155 mph in/on this vehicle on the Autobahn, I see no benefits. Besides, I understand that the "Green Arm" of the EEC is pushing to reduce the speeds on the Autobahn to save fuel and reduce pollution.

I agree with the post that states that it is neither a 'bike nor a car. I looked at the picture, then looked out the window at my full dresser, and knew the dresser won, hands down. So, I tossed the catalogue into the garbage and went for a ride. Gee, if I want something over my head, I'll just comply and wear a helmet!

Gee, just what the world needs, a 155 mph bike with training wheels...

I understand that the stabilisers are activated by a speed sensor, and when the speed sensor plays up? Lots of amusement at the traffic lights.

I think it's cool. I've also seen some fully eclosed trikes that lean into curves, those a re cool too. If it's cheap, I'd get one.
