Where's the Gulf Oil? In the Food Web, Study Says

Posted November 08, 2010 10:11 AM

From Yahoo! News: Science News:

Scientists say they have for the first time tracked how certain nontoxic elements of oil from the BP spill quickly became dinner for plankton, entering the food web in the Gulf of Mexico. The new study sheds light on two key questions about the aftermath of the 172 million-gallon spill in April: What happened to the oil that once covered the water's surface and will it work its way into the diets of Gulf marine life?

William "Monty" Graham got his name in the press! Wow! Lot's of stuff by mostly unnamed 'scientists'.

Not much else said except conjecture. Good green stuff where science is only important if it supports their position.

uh - yeah --- and ---

with input from: Michael Crosby (who didn't even take part in the study)---"Way-to-go!"

"The study didn't specifically track the toxic components of the oil that has people worried....Graham said it was too hard to study the toxins in tiny plankton..."

Wassa-matta? Never heard of "microbiology"...? Titration methods? Spectrum analysis? The SNL 'Bass-o-matic' (for prepping sample-batches of plankton)? c'mon! Snot THAT hard...

[an' "No", I readily admit, I ain't no scientist myse'f. But I knows how to google for answers that are there ... and how to ask the *right* questions when applicable, as well as how to "network" for the right person(s) to ask.]
