Steam-fired Navy planes are so passe. Over the weekend, the Navy used a huge electric charge to catapult a manned flight into the air.

The question is when is the electro-matic shove coming to the public ... that is when you can talk about using less energy ... at an airport hooked up to the grid ... saving takeoff weight and money concurrently.

Saving electricity/NRG on a nuclear powered aircraft carrier is kinda like the desert saving sand.
