New research from Glasgow University in Scotland suggests
that hydrogen fuel may soon be used as a pollution-free alternative to traditional
fuels.
Glasglow scientists are working with EADS Innovation Works to see if
nanotechnology can be used to address issues regarding the expense and
difficulty of hydrogen fuel storage.
They are specifically investigating the use of nanotechnology
to improve efficiency of hydrogen storage tanks. Through modification of the
composition and microstructure of the tank and storage materials, they hope to
make it possible to efficiently store and distribute hydrogen and use it to
power fuel cells for airplanes.
Do you see a viable future for hydrogen fuel?
