New Volcanic Fissure Opens in Hawaii

Mt. Kilauea is currently erupting in Hawaii. Video from the US Geological Survey, shows lava pouring from a new fissure that's opened in the Earth between two previous craters. The USGS has helpfully included a helicopter in the shot for scale. It's so tiny that I missed it the first time.

The Pacific plates are restructuring themselves. California is likely to be next for some disturbance, I hope it is not serious.
