Space Shuttle Discovery Glides to Final Landing

The oldest and most traveled space shuttle, Discovery, glided back to Earth on Wednesday after its final space flight before ending its days as a museum piece to delight the crowds. NASA's oldest shuttle touched down on a mostly clear day at noon at its home base in Cape Canaveral, Fla. "To the ship that has led the way time and time again, we say, 'Farewell Discovery,'" radioed the Mission Control commentator.

I don't watch a whole lot of television, but I have watched quit a lot of the NASA channel the last week and a half. I have a weakness for manned space programs in general, and the STS and ISS missions in particular.

One more flight for Endeavour (STS134), and maybe a flight for Atlantis (STS135), and then the show is over... for now. The ISS will be (should be) operational until AD2015, perhaps AD2020.
