Posted April 25, 2011 8:52 AM

From Fast Company:

Nature News and Columbia University team up and produce a Google Earth map that makes nuclear risk stark.Nature News and Columbia University have joined forces to make a Google Earth map showing the world populations at risk from nuclear fallout. The interactive map combines data on population and the locations and sizes of reactors, plotting risk graphically in the form of circles.

The sky is falling !!

The sky is falling !!

We're doomed. we're never going to make it.

Why get out of bed?

OK, let's show a map of the risk of dying while driving or riding in a car. Oh, you mean every bloody highway, road, trail, and traversable terrain in the world? It's funny how folks get so wrapped around the axle about infinitesimally small risks by the "boogie man" yet will hop into an automobile with nary a second thought.

Sir.I think the subject is delved into by choice not fears.

Only people who have come up with an answer to the problem must discuss

these issues among themselves is what I would be saying about it.

The governs may be able to find project money earlier than flatline

if others just let them be.ds

I will have to disagree. It IS all about fears and exploiting the gullible public with lopsided views of an industry who quite frankly has a very, very good safety record in comparison to all others. These campaigns are waged by those with a very specific agenda.

Well, there is hope but to me it depends on each household taking a part in outdoor

Air Filtering projects Such as 1. placing a fan blade on a pole or

even a big giant Fan that catches Particles in a special screen or

captures the radioactive soot in a liquid filled cup like Filter queens used..

2.A fans that purify air while pointing blowing air into( green chlorophyl containing)

Live Foliage using those new small plug-in solar panels for using outdoors,

(Lennox has some similar panels on their new equipment).ds

Life is a risky business, in fact it's a fast transient (we will be dead long long time!!!).

Some people think the man is almighty and can control Nature. Unfortunately (or not) that's not true.

Knowing well the risks of nuclear power plants and let aside nuclear weapons, I will never say Fukushima or even Chernobyl aren't a disaster, but being honest and balanced, someone can compute the risk to life that represents to any human being the neighbourhood of a nuclear facility and compare it with the risk to die in a car accident or be shooted down in some cities (even not taking Tijuana into account).

How many people have died, say in the last forty years, by bullets, knifes, car crashes or even household accidents?

After answering all this things we may continue to blame against NPPs.

Kind regards
