Sure, design-school renderings are a dime a dozen, and most of them never end up seeing the light of day in production or even as life-sized concepts. But this one, the Ankonian concept by Slavche Tanevski of the Munich University of Applied Sciences, very much captures and extends the design direction Lamborghini seems to be going in, and was completed with a lot of help and oversight by both Lamborghini and Audi design engineers.

With recent offerings like the Reventon and Aventador becoming ever more angular and bladelike, the Ankonian takes that design language to its logical extreme, with a riot of sharp edges and triangular shapes. At first it just looks bizarre, but it grows on you. What do you think: is this the shape of things to come?
