Volvo Meets DOE 10-Year Energy Intensity Reduction Target in One Year

Volvo Trucks' manufacturing plant in Dublin, Virginia has achieved a 30-percent reduction in energy intensity in just one year, making it the first company to meet a 10-year challenge established by the Department of Energy

Governmental target goals like this are purposely "watered down" in time so that industry can, supposedly, transition into change without it being a drastic alteration of their current mfg. processes. The truth is, as demonstrated by Volvo, it's more a smokescreen/delay, bought by lobbyists on behalf of industry, than a real burden.
