It's Do or Die Time For The Mach 20 Missile

Posted August 10, 2011 8:26 AM

From Gizmodo:

DARPA has a plan called Prompt Global Strike that'll knock out any terrorist target within an hour using a remote aircraft. Sounds great, except the first trial of this advanced weapon failed miserably. The defense agency now has one more try to get it right or the project will be canceled.

another Gizmodo article with no details and no link to details. also the second flight has already happened. Perhaps the results could have been included instead of the highly negative writing.

Moderators please stop putting Gizmodo links up. they are trash.- an engineering forum does not need articles that are from an anti-engineering perspective.

Here is a link that differs from what the gizmodo post said would happen and includes real information. The gizmodo link really is wrong in what it says will happen as result of this last flight having a failure. It did and more tests are planned. There is no do or die. Grand standing by a reporter- more anti science? who knows but gizmodo has once again proven to be crap.

I understand your opinion. However there are details and links for this story posted in the giz article. They always post whatever sources helped them in writing the "article" at the end of the final paragraph. For example in this story it appears [DARPA via Wired]. ya know, DARPA as in Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency....not like they did all the r & d for this project...they'd be a horrible source.

Giz definitely has its share or good articles and horrible articles, but I think that is true of many "blogs" that publish 20+ stories a day.
