Are Recession Worries Affecting Your Company?

Posted August 25, 2011 7:25 AM

Since the end of the recession 2 years ago, companies' have enjoyed record earnings while hiring very few new workers. Now, as stock markets around the world see losses in excess of 10%, pundits are saying we could be in for another recession very soon. Are the most recent economic woes the talk around the water cooler at work? Has your company taken any concrete steps to prepare for another recession, or are headcounts still so low, there's not much else that can be done, at least as it related to maintenance labor?

What end? define recession. people out of work. more job loss. higher prices for necessities. The only ones not feeling the pinch are the ones in DC-constant partying & vacations. I couldn't afford to take ONE this year-how many has the POTUS taken?

Terms used depend on whose ox is being gored - Wall has zoomed until recently, so their recession had ended

Citizens may still be suffering, but who cares?

And YES, my company is seriously battening the hatches, we work in defense. So we are about to join the rest of the country in recession.
