And here I was, thinking that different species, (whether intentionally or inadvertently), have been being spread by humans for thousands of years.

Looks to me like another very slanted article that is intent on proving that humans are destroying the planet.

Would the species be any less native or invasive if they blew there in the wind, or were carried in bird droppings?

I'm with #1↑. To to imply, having frozen (pardon the pun) the planet as it is now, that for changes from that state the human is both culpable and liable, is preposterous. However, humans have evolved to the point where they are able to predict the outcome of their actions with some accuracy. That's called responsible. There is a distinction between these three words that many fail to make correctly, if at all.

Gentlemen,

You miss the point.

Humans have been spreading seeds for 1,000's of years.

It's just that until now, Antarctica's climate was too inhospitable to allow them to sprout and grow.

Chill out dudes. Global warming is here. Regardless of the cause.

They seem to have left birds out out the equation. While I doubt penguins carry seeds that survive the salt water many others either have attached or pass seeds as a normal vector.
