As many members of the CR4 community have noticed, a new
user group called CR4 Admins has been created. This group is simply a way to identify the
people who help keep CR4 running smoothly.
One example of a scenario where this could be helpful is
when a moderator posts a reminder to keep a discussion friendly. It could
go ignored, but when users see that the post is coming from a moderator, it
instead might be taken as a reminder of the CR4 policies.
Another benefit is that Admins and Moderators are more accessible and every member will know who they are and can contact them easily. By visiting the Who's Online page, you can find out which Admin/Mod is online and contact him or her directly if you need immediate assistance. You can also use the Report! button or send an email to cr4admin@globalspec.com.
There are two types of membership in the group:
·
Moderators - Remove spam and inappropriate
content from the site, help users with account maintenance, and handle support
requests.
·
Admins - Perform the functions of moderators as
well as maintaining some other components of the site.
The new user group does not mean that moderating is going to
change. In fact, the moderators will be testing some unreleased functions
of groups, which may become available to the rest of the community in the
future.
Thank you everyone for your continued support and adherence to our policies, and for all your contributions of content that make CR4 a great place for learning and discussion.
