This isn't a new concept, my friend in Norway who owns the garbage contracts in the county of Telemark, has been using CCTV instead of a rearview mirror on the garbage trucks since 1979! And since this turned out to be much better than a rear view mirror, he then did the same with all the companies cars, including his own!!!

They are talking about the side mirrors, not the rear-view mirror.
