Too Fast to Live…too Young to die

Posted May 29, 2007 5:04 PM

From Globorati:

When Concorde was put out to pasture in 2003, it marked the first time in aviation history that man had gone back in speed. But now the supersonic dream may return to the skies. A consortium led by Richard Branson is angling to refit one of the former planes as a "heritage craft," and already has the support of 30,000 Save Concorde acolytes. If successful, the Club Concorde campaign could bring the world's fastest commercial jet out of retirement within three years — and would signal a major marketing victory for the Virgin chief over rivals, British Airways, who with Air France operated the trans-Atlantic service from 1976.

It won't happen. The British Governement/British Aerospace handed all of the blue prints to the *********cheese-eating%^&&^$%**$% French years and years ago, who are now the only ones allowed to grant airworthiness certificates for the graceful ol' gal. And they won't do that - they have already made it clear that they will not inspect Corcorde for anyone (it's why she was grounded...BA were willing to carry on flying her).

And the reason they won't inspect her - because they've joined forces with the Japanese to design the next generation - the low orbit supersonic craft that was mooted her about 20 years ago.

Like the Murphey's, I'm not bitter....

Didn't you really mean: *********cheese-eating%^&&^$%**$% French "Government". Otherwise some of us "cheese-eating...", might take offense.
