Posted May 31, 2007 9:33 AM

From detnews.com - Autos Insider:

Toyota Motor Corp. faces a costly setback in the biggest U.S. vehicle launch in its history after owners of its new Tundra pickup reported engine failures. The Japanese automaker may recall Tundras equipped with 5.7-liter V-8s to replace the engines, a company spokesman said Wednesday. The trouble with the Tundra's 5.7-liter engines, the most powerful engine available on the new pickup, is the latest in a series of recalls and problems that have dented Toyota's reputation.

It seems that the corer cutting, short term profit driven, account watching, managers have spread to Japan and are doing their best to destroy the reputation of countries there kust like they have in just about every other country.

Just my opinion!

We are an American company working for the Japanese ATV industry. The biggest problem they face is their deadlines. Once a production date has been set, there is no changing it. There are print changes till the very end, but delivery date does not change. If you miss the date, they threaten you with with drawl from your company. One does what they have to to make the dates, and apparently at a costly mistake on Toyota's part. If an item is not ready, put off the date. Better to be ready than chance a recall of such magnitude. Even the ATV industry faces tremendous recalls at times. Most of these due to bad designs on their part, and not enough time to do testing.

Funny, but the software companies are exactly the same. Must get next years package to the stores, let the consumers debug for them.
